Harvest 2026 in Alsace: Our Logbook at Domaine Schaeffer-Woerly

The 2026 harvest has officially begun at Domaine Schaeffer-Woerly in Dambach-la-Ville! Under a generous late-summer sun, our entire team is hard at work in the vineyards to gather what promises to be an exceptional vintage. Let us take you behind the scenes of our organic harvest.

A Golden Start with the Auxerrois

We kicked off the season with our beautiful Auxerrois. This year, the grapes are bursting with sunshine, offering incredible juiciness and rich aromas. Seeing these golden bunches is a true reward for our year-round dedication to organic farming.

Early Mornings to Preserve the Magic

To ensure our wines retain all their vibrant fruitiness and crispness, we start our picking very early in the morning. Harvesting in the cool dawn air prevents the grapes from overheating and preserves the delicate aromas of the berries. Plus, it gives us the chance to witness breathtaking views over the Alsatian vineyards.

Exploring our Terroirs: Breitstein and Dieffenthal

As the week progressed, we moved to some of our most distinctive plots. On Thursday, while picking Riesling on the granitic terroir of the Breitstein, mother nature decided to surprise us. We stumbled upon a fascinating spontaneous mutation right on the vine!

The following day, Friday, took us to the beautiful slopes of Dieffenthal. There, we harvested a stunning mix of Pinot Noir and Riesling. The contrast of colors in the buckets was absolutely gorgeous, reflecting the richness and diversity of our 2026 crop.

A huge thank you to our amazing harvesting team for their hard work and good spirits! Stay tuned, the 2026 harvest is far from over, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you soon. Cheers!
