At the heart of the 2026 organic harvest at Domaine Schaeffer-Woerly

The harvest season is in full swing in the heart of Alsace! Once again this year, Domaine Schaeffer-Woerly lives to the rhythm of nature. We are deeply attached to our organic farming approach. Therefore, we made strong harvesting choices for 2026. These choices are guided by listening to our terroir. They aim to protect living ecosystems and the quality of our future wines. This vintage requires very special attention. We spend a lot of time in the vineyard rows. We carefully taste the berries there, plot by plot. By biting into the fruit, we check the arrival of aromas. We thus determine the perfect time to use the secateurs.

Sylvaner facing the magnificent village of Blienschwiller

We move to Blienschwiller to harvest our Sylvaner. A postcard panorama opens up to our team. Facing this magnificent wine village, the harvest is in full swing. This year, these plots offer us berries with beautiful vivacity. We pick our Sylvaner by hand at the ideal time. We thus ensure the preservation of this Alsatian grape’s typicality. It is the promise of a fresh, delicious, and thirst-quenching wine.

Human touch and plant respect on our Alsace slopes

Machines have no place on our steep granite slopes. And that is a very good thing. 100% manual harvesting remains at the heart of our philosophy. The human eye is irreplaceable for selecting the most beautiful bunches. It allows us to discard those that do not meet our standards. But our precision work does not stop there. Look closely at our plots after the pickers have passed. You will notice we leave the foliage completely intact. The plant’s season does not end with the picking! These leaves are true natural solar panels. The vine thus takes full advantage of the Indian summer sun. It can rebuild its energy reserves for the winter. Organic farming also means letting nature do its work. Without rushing it, it perfectly prepares the next vintage.

Sharing and conviviality around our historic wine press

The harvest is also a time for sharing. We gather around our historic press for a convivial meal. A beautiful glass of Pinot Noir perfectly crowns these intense days of work. We celebrate the end of a great harvest day together.
