Exploring a medieval village in the heart of Alsace

First of all, Dambach-la-Ville is not just a simple passing point. It is a true immersion into Alsatian history. Protected by its remarkably preserved ramparts, the village offers a unique, picturesque charm. Stroll under its ancient fortified gates, admire the flower-decked half-timbered houses, and enjoy the tranquility of an authentic winegrowers’ village.

Hiking to the Château du Bernstein

Next, for nature lovers, the surroundings offer magnificent trails. The Château du Bernstein, perched on its hill, is one of the oldest fortified castles in the region. After a beautiful walk in the forest, you will reach an exceptional panorama. At sunrise, the view over Dambach-la-Ville and the Alsace plain is simply spectacular.

Furthermore, the month of October transforms our hillsides into a true sea of gold and copper. During your walk in the vineyard, you can admire our blushing vine leaves contrasting with our granite soil. In the background, the charming village of Dambach-la-Ville and its church steeple reveal themselves amidst this landscape of warm colors. It is precisely on this exceptional terroir that the grapes for our future vintages are born.

The Saint-Sébastien Chapel: a jewel perched in the heart of the vineyard

It is impossible to mention the heritage of Dambach-la-Ville without speaking of the sumptuous Saint-Sébastien Chapel. Nestled on the hillside, right in the heart of our vineyard, it has watched over the village and its inhabitants for centuries. Accessible by a gentle stroll through the vines which, in this season, wear their most beautiful yellow and orange coats, this sanctuary houses a fascinating history and a mysterious ossuary. It is one of our favorite spots: once at the top, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama over the rooftops of Dambach-la-Ville and the Alsace plain.
